David prides himself in providing his clients with top-notch, aggressive legal services. He developed the firm's multi-level DWI binder that changes the game with regard to DWI defense, and we seem to add a different level after every case. Beyond general personality and reputation, this level of precision is what has people waiting in line to meet him. Then when you add Attorney Ryan T. Smith to the equation, you immediately get what has already been awarded as one of the Top DWI Firms in the area.
Since he started practicing law in 2002, David has focused on defending his client's rights against criminal charges and adverse actions filed by the State of North Carolina and the Department of Transportation, Division of Motor Vehicles ("DMV").
David has lived in Charlotte, North Carolina his entire lifetime. He is married with two children. While not practicing law, David spends time playing live music and developing his love of Classical and Fingerstyle guitar.

Attorney Ryan T. Smith in the Legal Elite Hall of Fame as his colleagues voted him as North Carolina's Top Criminal Law Attorney in 2016. He always says that he appreciates all the awards and recognition, from serving on Law Review to Business NC's Top 30 Under 30, to Super Lawyers, to the National Trial Lawyer's Top 40 Under 40, but it's helping people that makes him truly happy.
Being a certified NBA Player Agent (NBPA), the time he doesn't spend battling it out in court, he spends either recruiting NBA prospects or attempting to relive his glory days on the basketball court. He's been the Commissioner of the Mecklenburg County Lawyer Basketball League for years. Check out the photo-section for our recent Championship portrait. Ryan is a West Virginia native who fights to the end. He started his professional career in the Corporate & Investment Banking world. He has spoken highly of his time in the banking world, yet always said that he never realized what his personal end-game was until he formed RTS Law Group. Our employees are sharp, passionate, and feel like they are members of our family (some actually are). We're looking forward to fighting on your behalf.
