Hello! Welcome to my Thumbtack page. My name is Vanessa, and I am a full-time UC Berkeley student looking to get my puppy fever cured in my free time. Child and pet care has been a loving hobby of mine since the age of thirteen. I have watched children ages six-week to ten, and dogs from puppies less than one year to senior pups.
I own a pup named Maya who is nine years old but acts like she is still a puppy with a tremendous amount of energy, can run for miles, and floods my entire camera roll. I have had experience with high and low energy dogs, small and large, slow sniffing investigators and strong leash pulling pups, I am comfortable with all. I grew up with a German Shepherd, now own a Boxer/Whippet mix, and yearn to own a Doberman one day. Walking with me means uninterrupted sniff sessions and dog park playdates or grass fields stops as permitted by mom or dad, play time and lots of attention. My goal is to make your dog as happy and comfortable as can be!
I am a full-time student with classes on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am available for early morning walks before 7:30am and evening strolls after 4:30pm everyday, weekend or weekday check-ins for when your day is packed or out of town, and house and/or pet-sitting. I have a car so I can easily pop around town if needed. Although my calendar is blocked for Tuesday and Thursday classes, message me and we can find a time that works!
I'm happy to provide detailed updates and lots of photos during house sitting and walks. If you have a specific schedule or routine you would like to adhere to, I am happy to follow it. I am happy to reinforce any training techniques that may be required for your pets.
I have watched over fifteen animal families over the years through home-town connections and referrals, all entrusting me with their home, keys and pets. I am a very clean, respectful and responsible individual who will keep your house immaculate and will not cross boundaries while in the home. You can expect that I will be treating your home and pet as my own.
