I grew up (though managed to keep my imagination) in Greensburg, PA. I studied Photography and Graphic Design at The Pennsylvania State University (we are...!) Soon after graduating and realizing how difficult it was to get a well-paid "photography job" I moved to the DMV with $400 in my bank account with a dream of starting Jessica Yurinko Photography, not knowing exactly what that entailed. Sometimes you have to burn your ships to make things happen! And I'm blessed to say I've "made it happen." I'm grateful to really be living my dream - taking pictures for a living. Recently I've planted new roots in Charleston, SC as I've always enjoyed warmer weather and the beach life is not all that bad either.
Currently you may onboard me for Events & Portraits in the Washington, DC area, Charleston, Pittsburgh, and any city that airplanes fly to. On average these days I'm taking about one airplane ride a week and I love living a transient lifestyle.
I've earned a strong rapport with Washingtonians, giving way to photographing events on Capitol Hill, including congressional activities, lobby days, the National Tree Lighting Ceremony, the White House Easter Egg Roll, and even the 58th Presidential Inauguration.
As of recent, I'm enjoying all that the Lowcountry has to offer for photographers. I've already had the pleasure of photographing events at places like Kiawah Island Golf Resort, The Center for Birds of Prey, the Charleston Marriott, and of course the Charleston Area Convention Center. It would be a privilege to be considered for any of your Event Photography, Portrait, and/or Marketing Photography needs! I can't wait to connect with more Charleston businesses!
My specialties include: portraits, conferences, expositions, trade shows, galas, receptions, panel discussions, concerts, press conferences, award ceremonies, surprise birthday parties, and holiday parties.
With my vast experience in events coverage, my expertise in pre-visualizing big moments allows me to be the photographer who anticipates and truly creates an image rather than hoping for a good image.
