I've been in commercial industry for 20+ yrs. It's sad to see some of the prices and level of I experience these homeowners are dealing with. I am a service tech first and foremost. I don't show up to sell equipment at astronomical numbers. I'm there to find the issues and resolve them. Most of these issues come from a lack of preventative maintenence. Stuff that could of been avoided or had some warning, if you have the right guys out there inspecting and maintaining your hvac systems. I don't understand how some of these guys put gauges on systems without even checking the filter, dirty coils etc. There's are soo many things that can cause high and low pressure. The main one being lack of air flow. You CANNOT fix airflow with refrigerant. How some of these companies come and charge a customer for several ounds every year. It might be leaking but why haven't you found the leak and fixed it. There's nothing too crazy in the residential the could keep you from finding a leak. So I know the pride I take and my guys take in finding issues and resolving them. We would rather keep your system running as long as we can, as long as it makes sense. That's why I started doing residential.
