Ms. Avila is a TEA Certified Teacher with a Bachelor's in Music Education. Since 2008, she has had the privilege of teaching all ages (from 4 - 75+) having gained experience as both a private guitar instructor and group class instructor through the UTRGV Music Academy for three consecutive years (formerly the UTB Music Academy), self-employed private sessions, guitar/music summer camps, and previous other music programs. Though able to teach different genres (in both English and Spanish) – ranging from classical, blues (jazz), rock, “estudiantina”, and pop/modern – she places great emphasis on proper playing technique and alignment, the rudimentary principles, and music theory without avoiding the most important element of music – fun!
