I know it sounds flashy and too easy. But, If you are willing to take a moment from your day to do this exercise, I will demonstrate my ability to connect with your subconscious mind so you can finally understand where you are standing. (We can’t see the whole picture if we are standing in the frame.)
This is free and fun. If I’m wrong you’ve lost nothing. If I’m dead on the nose, you’ve found someone who can help!
Get a plain piece of paper and doodle like Picasso (simple one line figures). The dessert is your scene, everything that follows will be put into the scene to tell me a story.
1. I want you to imagine a desert. Describe it in your mind. What is the temperature? What is around you? What do you see or feel? This is the scene of the picture we’re about to draw.
When you’re satisfied with setting up your desert scene, we will add these items into the desert landscape…
2. The next thing I want you to do is imagine a cube.
In your mind what color is the cube? What is it made out of? Is it full of some thing or is it hollow? How big is this cube, the size of a toaster, house, spaceship? Now, after you know what your cube looks like draw it into the picture.
3. The second thing we want to add is a horse. It can be a stick horse (LOL). I want you to tell me what color your horses. And then think about what your horse is doing - what does it act like? Does it have accessories? And then put that horse somewhere into the picture.
4. Next is the ladder. imagine the ladder that came into your mind. what is it made of? What is it used for? And now draw that ladder into the scene of your picture.
5. Almost done...The next is to draw flowers. It can be one flower it can be many flowers it’s whatever you feel expressed in a flowery drawing.
6. The final step is to add a storm. Anywhere in the picture any kind of weather storm. It’s your desert it can be as accurate as is practical or it can be as fanciful as the Siberian snow if you’d like. Now, add that storm into the picture and you’re done!
