About

I tutor with the outcome in mind - be it completing homework or preparing for any kind of test. I am not trying, in the tutoring, to make students 'mathematicians'. I am attempting to prepare them for the activity that they are doing. I teach math at 'career colleges' such as the Art Institute of Tampa, South University (health professions) and ITT Tech. There I emphasize the practical and utilitarian side of all math processes and procedures.

My satisfaction is two-fold. I like it when a student says 'This is the first 'A' or 'B' that I have ever received in a math course. Thanks for you help, Mr. Lerch'.

Also I like to see the spark in the eye of a student what begins to understand and internalize a math concept that has eluded them for years.
