Hello math students!
I'm a former test-prep teacher who now tutors for the math portions of the standardized school admissions tests, and K-12 or intro college math, statistics and economics courses. I'll work with you to make sure math clicks with you, and keep helping you with it until it does.
In my experience people who've had trouble with math often have had teachers who weren't good at explaining how to do math, or went too fast; we'll go through it step-by-step to make sure you understand each step and why you're doing it, to go from the info you're given through to the answer you're looking for.
I have a BA from Tufts in economics, attended Stuyvesant high school, and got an 800 on the SAT and perfect scores on the GRE math section and GMAT diagnostic exams I've taken. I've taught test-prep classes for the GRE, GMAT and SAT at Baruch College, and tutored many students in junior high through college level math and economics courses, and to prepare for the math portion of standardized tests. I enjoy explaining math concepts to students—I come from a long line of teachers in my family and my grandmother was head of the math department at Bronx Science, so guess that's where I get it from (:
