I’m Miss Kristy!

I have 25+ years of experience in education both as a certificated teacher and professional tutor. I specialize in helping elementary and middle school aged students not only meet their educational goals but excel by learning the skills needed to be a motivated and successful learner!

I graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt with an Elementary Teaching Credential and a Bachelor’s in Communication. I also received my Single Subject General Sciences credential from University of Phoenix.

I am able to make curriculum and state standards accessible and engaging for students. I am motivated, caring and patient in guiding students to academic success. I am also experienced in partnering with parents to see their students not only succeed but thrive as a learner! There is nothing better than when a student understands a topic and begins to build self confidence!

I work with students one on one and also host small groups of students for tutoring sessions. Tutoring sessions are offered in person and virtually.

I offer my educational services as a tutor in the following areas :

Assessing students in order to formulate a plan for higher achievement

Helping students reach and master their grade level standards and beyond!

Developing executive functioning including organization, time management and study skills

Preparing for upcoming tests including CAASP standardized testing

Developing skills to become an active and engaged learner

Working with students to boost knowledge retention

Providing assistance with homework/project completion
