Hey there! I’m Caitlin. I’ve been practicing bodywork for just over 6 years. The approach I take to bodywork is not like your typical relaxation massage. I have been certified in Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT) techniques through Pursuit PT. This approach to treatment is based on the philosophy that all the body’s systems are interconnected and treatment needs to consider and address them all to be successful. To break this down further, I will not just be rubbing your muscles. I will be looking at the individual systems of the body, such as; disgestive, nervous, reproductive, circulatory, respiratory, etc. As well as ligaments and joints.
I have seen this type of treatment to be the most effective when the client is committed to their health and willing to put in the work to have less pain in their life. My goal is not to relax you for an hour but to find the root cause of your specific problems so that you can have less pain long term. There may be some discomfort and pain but I always strive to work with the clients pain tolerance. All sessions are catered to the needs of a client and will likely be unique, even for returning clients aside from a few basic elements, including an updated health history and postural assessment.
My goal is to help people reach a state where they can function with less pain. Pain keeps us distracted from connecting with ourselves and others and it’s my passion to help people with their overall health. I try to take at least one new class a month to keep up on the latest techniques to help my clients.
