ABOUT OUR CHEFS

In 2018, Chef Gershwin’s passion to share healthy plant-based cuisine started when his personal health issues led to significant changes in his eating habits. Within a few weeks of converting to a plant-based diet his blood pressures reading was normal for the first time in many years. Doctors were urging him to take lifelong medication and now he knew he would take medication to control his blood pressure.

Gershwin was fortunate to work alongside Master Chefs from France and Germany, having worked in luxury hotels in Australia, Mauritius, and the US. He began researching and executing plant-based dishes deeply rooted to sensory pleasures to taste fat, acidity, salt, sugar, and umami. As a former professor and hotelier, he decided to make it his mission to prepare delectable plant-based food that will suit everyone’s palate. His goal is for people to understand you don’t have to give up flavor and texture to be on a meatless diet.

While transitioning to a plant-based diet, he influenced his teenage stepson Juan to start creating vegan dishes and ultimately also changing his eating habits. As a teenager of Latin origin, who loved eating meat, he was impressed with my culinary creativity cooking classic meat dishes with plant-based ingredients. Juan took it upon himself to make use his own creativity to create classical American and Latin plant-based food. Today, Juan is also part of Craft as a chef.

Aside from sharing plant based gastronomic experiences with both vegan and nonvegan customers, the distinct aspect of Chef Gershwin is his ability to pair unique wine and spirits with food creating a bespoke gastronomic experience.

SOMMELIER Services

Dr. Gershwin Narraidoo after working as a wine and spirits educator at Johnson and Wales University for over 12 years has specialized knowledge in wine and spirits. Having significant training that includes the Society of Wine Educators, the Court of Master Sommeliers, the French Wine Scholar Guild, Ecole du Vin de Bordeaux, and the Wine Spirit & Education Trust. Today, he combines both his culinary talents as well as wine and spirits acumen to create personalized tastings which pairs well with plant based food. He proposes unique plant-based world cuisine that cater to his client needs with a constant focus on a bespoke experience.

His goal is for you to have fun while learning how to taste wine, understand and describe wines, how to pair with food, and more. Clients can request a special topic or choose from one of his curated lessons such as wine & plant base food pairing. His team can design an event around your wines or source and transport them within your assigned budget.

Not all private chefs or sommelier can deliver both exceptional wine and spirits experience with excellent food prepared with love.
