My name is Andrew Lehane, personal trainer/coach and owner of Trainz 4 Gainz LLC. My mission is to help children-teens reach maximum peak athletic performance through the 7 stage LTAD model(long term athletic development). This is to help kids in their physical and mental journey through pre pubescent to post pubescent years, which we all know can be tough with all the hormonal changes they go through and social relationships and to get the most out of any sport they choose to play. It's to eradicate early specialization in sports, to increase brain activity, to increase their levels in physical literacy, less chance of injury, fewer dropouts from burning out, better choice in sport, much higher sporting achievements, and more importantly let's kids be kids and happier all around.
I use the modified American Development Model, which was modified from the LTAD through the US Olympic Committee. And in my his process we are not only developing their athleticism, but we are giving the children ownership of the process so that their motivation does not dissipate. This is highly important to promote lifetime physical activity. Any fitness attribute is largely trainable across childhood and adolescence. This means that trainers/coaches like myself should train all fitness attributes for all kids.
Kids don't grow at the same rate so development is not a linear progression. The health and well being of the children is the central tenet to the model I use. The development of fundamental motor skills and muscle strength are so important to successful participation in sport, physical education, and physical activity. Kids should play as many sports as they want to and can across all childhood and adolescence and avoid specializing too early. It's important for me to work with your kids in strength and conditioning so that they develop positive healthy habits, learn to really enjoy the strength and conditioning, and be in shape to play- not the other way around. I work with all kids at all ages not just the ones we regard as "elite".
This is also an excellent program for non athletes who have anxiety issues, mental health concerns, depression, psychosocial reasons. This model is meant to promote physical activity for life. And that's what I will do with your children. They will get the best out of their childhood and adulthood and the physical body is the foundation for which you build mentally and spiritually. I use this to help fix a broken system. The one you or I grew up with. Currently 70% of kids dropout of sport by 13 years old and 25% never play a single sport. In comparison video games are played by 97% of youth. That is why a youth-centric sports/fitness experience is necessary. Let me guide your child to greatness in body, mind, and soul.
My program is virtual through zoom, and offers 1:1 training as well as small classes or teams training without using weights until teenage years but using resistance training, body weight training (ie TRX training), and range of motion exercises. I also use some Pilates training for warmup and cooldown phases as also use plyometrics.
The only equipment needed is plyobox, resistance bands/cables, TRX training gear/straps, etc.
I can also train adults and geriatrics as I love teaching fitness to anyone and everyone. For adults and geriatrics we can discuss the type of training we will be doing and where we do it. Let me build your quality of life with you.
