I've spent my life seeking out extremely special and rare training with direct proteges of the greatest musical minds that revealed the understanding of music from a compositional craft side of things:
starting with the Viennese and German musical traditions of the 18th century, through a direct lineage culminating with the teachings of Schenker and Schoenberg, in turn passed on to their proteges - my teachers!
All of which greatly enhances your progress and enjoyment at the keyboard; through presenting how music works, in a practical, useful, readily understandable ways, instead of playing note by note, you end up seeing the larger shapes, similar to seeing letters forming syllables, forming words creating phrases, creating sentences, as opposed to sounding out each letter agonizingly without understanding, which is why so may people give up their musical studies.
Helping others experience the rich joys of classical music, baroque music, music in general, and being able to give them the best tools that have ever been crafted to last a lifetime at the keyboard, is one of the greatest the joys of my life!

Also, Thumbtack for some reason does not list "Checks" in "Payment Methods Accepted" Most of my students pay monthly tuition for the upcoming month by check at the last session of the previous month, as is common practice for most piano teachers.
