My name is David. I've been teaching guitar and piano for over twenty years now. I'm classically trained in both with years spent studying with Douglas Niedt, Karen Kushner, and Christopher Madden, at the University of Missouri, Kansas City Conservatory. I've also studied jazz guitar with Jay EuDaly, Danny Embrey, and Stanton Kessler. I specialize in dealing with students for whom previous approaches to their instruments have yielded little to no progress but I also teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students of all ages and from all backgrounds. My approach is laid back but I stress excellence with everything I do. Students learn their instrument in the context of real music and real musical understanding, not exercises or rote repetition. I have two studio locations: my home studio in Raytown, MO fifteen minutes from anywhere in the KC metro area, and my away studio in Blue Springs off the I-70 Highway.
