Ted Marolla is the Director of Art Preservation Services Michigan, LLC (APS), and has spent the last 20 years in the art services industry with a concentration in presentation, restoration, and installation. He was brought to APS for his expertise in digital restoration of antique photographs. For the last 10 years, he has worked closely with the disaster industry helping victims of fire, flood, or natural disaster. With extensive experience in conservation and restoration, he works with paintings, works on paper, photographs, textiles, murals, antique and fine furniture, frames, and sculpture. He observes the philosophy that restoration should be noninvasive and fully reversible while following the guidelines of the American Institute for Conservation of Historic & Artistic Works (AIC).
APS offers a wide range of services including emergency response handlers, condition reporting, restoration, appraisals, custom framing, transportation, and installation. Whether ancient, contemporary, or any time in between, there are countless types of artwork of all styles and ages that challenge conservators. Every piece of artwork has its own nuances and characteristics that are the result of the artist’s technique, the material used, and the conditions the artwork experiences over the years. From cleaning to complete restoration, APS’ attention to detail and quality is unsurpassed. Whether a work of art is of great monetary value, historic significance, or sentimental value, it is worthy of consideration.
