Having taught in various locations across the northeast, including Michigan, Chicago, New Hampshire, Washington D.C, and now Seattle, I bring a diverse range of knowledge and techniques to the pool. Whether you're looking to learn survival skills, improve comfortability in the water, or even master competitive techniques, I have got you covered.
My own passion for swimming began as a child spending summers at the local pool. Eventually, I became a competitive swimmer, representing Albion College and participating in triathlons in the Great Lakes Region. Drawing from my personal experiences, I understand the importance of fostering both skill development and enjoyment in the water.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to coach fellow athletes at the college level, as well as voluntarily assist at high school and middle school swim teams. Additionally, I have coached age-group competitive teams for the city of Dearborn, Michigan. In Dearborn, I successfully managed large groups of children, tailoring each lesson to their specific age range.
What sets me apart is my ability to make learning fun. With a repertoire of engaging activities and games, I ensure that your child not only learns how to swim safely but also has a blast while doing it. During my time at Camp Walt Whitman, a summer camp, I designed and coordinated swim activities to bring joy to the kids. One of my notable creations was an "Avengers" obstacle course, where our young swimmers got to experience the thrill of being superheroes in the water.
Moreover, I have experience teaching survival skills to those with a fear of water and those interested in becoming water rescuers. While I cannot currently provide certification for these skills, I can offer valuable knowledge-based instruction. Your safety and the safety of your loved ones are always my top priorities.
