I have been swimming since the age of 3 and swam competitively from ages 11 to 18. At the age of 15, I decided to be a lifeguard and quickly learned to teach children to swim and have been doing so for the past 6 years. It is something that I learned I had a deep passion for early on, making swimming fun, while motivating and teaching my students (from babies to elderly) essential life skills to both survive and have fun. I am an instructor who prides myself on my patience, attention to detail, and coach-like approach during all my classes. Derived from my time on competitive swim teams, I have a deep knowledge for improving technique on all levels, whether a beginner learning how to streamline or a more advanced swimmer that needs to improve their endurance. The two most important things to me are that my students are comfortable and that they are developing the correct habits in the pool. I have experience with all ages and levels of swimmers as well as those with long term minor injuries, pre-existing conditions, and past water-based traumas or close-calls. I always check in with my students to assess where they are at and how comfortable they are. I also enjoy developing a connection with my students with my light, “can do” attitude, always there to motivate!
