About

I have taught kindergarten through fifth grades for over 20 years. Reading is the foundation for all subjects. I currently work with students using a reading program that includes sight words, comprehension, phonics, fluency and spelling. I place a strong emphasis on phonics, breaking words into syllables, and advanced sight words. My students make significant progress and usually reach advanced levels in reading quickly.

I have taught four and five year olds to read well after letters and sounds are mastered.

My goal is to help students to advance their reading skills and develop a love for reading. I enjoy seeing my students' improvement as well as enthusiasm and self confidence.
