Our industry does not require to have a license to install window film. But I have many accreditations and certificates from manufacturers and trade associations. I am labeled as a Master Installer through the International Window Film Association.
There are many US manufacturers, let alone what is available from overseas. When you add the private label brands, we are in the hundreds. We have been using Madico(manufacturer) for over 20 years. They are not the cheapest material available. But in our opinion, they produce the most optically clear, longest lasting products in the market. Because of our decision to carry Madico, we do not have warranty issues unlike other cheaper brands.
Madico has been in existence since 1903 and are the innovator of many manufacturing processes used today. Our other product line is Huper Optik. We added them to our product line two years ago. They are the innovators of non-reflective high heat rejecting window films. They have the highest heat rejecting window film in the market today. Many manufacturers have tried to duplicate these products but cannot.
What I enjoy about this industry? Many things. Since I enjoy history, I have been in many historical buildings throughout the US which allowed me to learn more about that history. I have been privileged to meet and be in famous people's homes. But, the most enjoyment I get is helping people solve their issues pertaining to the sun. Some of my customers suffer from Lupus and other conditions that prevent them from living a normal life due to solar radiation. It is a great feeling to receive a thank you letter from them telling me they can live life more normally after I applied window film. One I am particularly proud of is a thank you poster from a children's church day care center. I applied a security film to protect the children. There was an event where a window broke. The film kept the glass from leaving the window frame, protecting the children inside. They gave me a handmade poster that has all their little hand prints.
