Introduction: Hi, I'm Angelica. I am passionate about teaching languages. I started Español para Mí several years ago to help adults who are seriously committed to learning Spanish all the way to fluency. Whether you are a beginner, rusty from high school, or somewhat proficient, we have instructors who can assist you on your journey to Spanish fluency.
I was born in Mexico and grew up bilingual – English and Spanish. I did my graduate work in Software Engineering at Stanford University. I have been to 57 countries – all 7 continents. I speak English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, and beginner Tagalog. I have taught both ESL and Spanish, at college level and one-on-one. I am fortunate to have attended the best language schools in France, Italy, and Germany.
Having been on both sides, learning and teaching, of several foreign languages, as an adult, I have developed an excellent understanding of the different components of learning a language (vocabulary building, pronunciation, language constructs, etc.). With this extensive language experience, coupled with my technology background, I have developed unique, proprietary linguistic methodology, optimized for visual online instruction. This content and approach, used by all our instructors, utilizes extensive colorful and dynamic materials that enable students to engage in basic conversation almost immediately. This approach, coupled with independent study and supplied exercises, has been proven to accelerate students through fluency.
Our instructors are well aware that many people experience frustration and give up on learning a language. We know the problem is not the student, it’s the approach. We love to help those people “turn it around” and find out how enjoyable and rewarding it can be to learn a new language.
