My journey in accounting has led me to establish my accounting and bookkeeping venture, Thomas Accounting and Bookkeeping LLC.
During my tenure as a controller at the Regional Hospital in Alaska, I faced and successfully navigated challenges brought about by the unprecedented events of the past couple of years, particularly the impacts of COVID-19 on the healthcare industry. The accounting department played a critical role in ensuring essential functions such as payroll, accounts payable, grant management, and financial reporting to the Finance Committee and Board continued seamlessly.
Having experienced leadership changes and organizational transitions, I demonstrated resilience and dedication to maintaining operational efficiency within my department. My prior experience at the State of Alaska in various departments, including the Office of Information Technology and the Division of Admin Services, has equipped me with a diverse skill set and a comprehensive understanding of governmental accounting practices.
