I understand how to help someone learn or improve their tennis game based on an individual's current level. Also, I understand that we all learn in slightly different ways, so I communicate and demonstrate strokes using a variety of explanations and analogies. I ask questions to students to find out what they want to get out of our sessions. In other words, what is their goal. Then, I observe a student's tennis strokes and note techniques that could hinder their progress and point them out with alternative solutions. Finally, I try to keep it simple; no one can remember 15 things at once and hit a nice ball. I break it down and work on the basics first, then through repetition of "good habits," we can move on to other key stroke techniques. I always look for feedback to make sure we are progressing.
I love the game of tennis. It’s a game for a lifetime, it's a fun game to play, especially when you start improving. Tennis is also great exercise and a good stress reducer. I enjoy helping young athletes who want to go out for their high school team, or other organized teams. School sports is a great thing; it build character, can boost your confidence in other areas and is a good way to make new friends. I have over eight years’ experience teaching and coaching tennis, both in team settings and one on one.
Thanks you,
Daryl
