Many requests are for classical violin. My question is how will you use this genre and skill?
My niche is that I teach other genres of violin as well for a more rounded education. I also teach fiddle, mandolin, and viola to all ages and am also a performing musician.
Specializing in Celtic, Old-Time, Acoustic swing and backup, Bluegrass, and teaching easy theory along with the instrument. I have over 40 years experience playing the violin. I teach classical techniques for proper positioning, bowing, sight reading and analyzation, and ear training.
I believe that one can learn an instrument at any age. For the adult learner, playing an instrument helps improve creative thinking, memory retention, coordination, socialization, and physical activity. Playing a violin burns calories, and develops upper body strength.
I believe that learning should be fun and challenging. If it isn't fun, one won't stick with it. I use Hanon Scale method and tune analyzation for memory retention. I also encourage the student to immerse themselves in the genre of music they desire to play, by attending concerts or festivals, and local jams, studying videos, or listening while in car etc
I also facilitate jams in public places once a month to encourage players to come out and learn from each other and also let the public in on the best kept secret to life!

Playing music has been a passion of mine since I was three years old. I enjoy sharing the love of music and teaching how to understand it, as it is truly an international lanquage.
I love meeting different people and playing with different groups. One of the latest cool gigs I did recently was playing in a pirate festival, with a band I met an hour before performing. It was exciting and fun!
I love almost all forms of music and like to analyze it while listening.
Music is sound energy for me. I love teaching it, and preaching it!
Also, even after 40 years, I find that I'm only playing the tip of the iceberg. I still have so much to learn and I love to pass it along when I discover it!
