About

Hi, my name is Brandon and I’m with Ramona Web Designs.

== My Background ==

I worked at a local construction company for over a decade. One of my side duties there was handling the website. At first, I just hired & managed outside companies for the fire couple revamps. As issues came up or we needed to update things, I got it done through lots of Googling & trial and error.

I grew to like working on the website and eventually went beyond troubleshooting, teaching myself web design and web development so I could tinker with the site and keep improving it. Now I'm a stay-at-home Dad and I do freelance websites to keep the lights on.

== So what sets me apart? ==

» My 10+ years at a local small business. I know what it's like from your perspective. To wear many hats. To deal with all the headaches of trying to wrap my head around websites/SEO/reviews/etc. To navigate my way through the headaches of hiring someone.

» I’ve always liked when a mechanic or veterinarian just levels with me and says, “Look, here’s what you really need. If you wanna go above and beyond you can do these other things too, but they’re just bonuses.” The honesty is refreshing and I respect them for not trying to upsell.

I’ve structured my entire business around those 2 concepts. I specialize in websites for local service businesses; I get you on the map with a website that’s beautifully designed, lightning fast, and search engine friendly.

== FAQs ==

① Why 5 pages?

That covers most needs, so I made that the base pricing so you aren’t paying for more than you need. Homepage, About, Services, Contact, and Projects/Gallery.

② Is it really no upfront cost?

Yes. We hated having to fork over a huge five-figure amount. It’s a big expense and you’re not even sure if they suck. Think of the subscription like a monthly payment, but better - you continue getting value every month.

③ Is there a contract?

There’s a 1-year initial term, then it goes month-to-month (cancel any time). This term is mainly there to ensure clients are serious before signing on. Beyond that initial protection, if you aren’t satisfied, I don’t want to lock you in to any agreements.

④ How do payments work?

The first month is charged when you sign on, then future months are billed on the first. Payments are processed on autopay via Stripe, which accepts credit cards, debit cards, and bank ACH transfer.

⑤ Are there any hidden costs?

Nope. The only other cost you’ll incur for sure is a domain, which is ~$12/year and paid direct to the registrar. Other costs are optional: for pages beyond the standard five, I charge $99 one-time fee; and if you want a custom email address, you’ll pay a platform directly for an email server.

⑥ What happens if I cancel?

The website is taken offline and you start from scratch with someone else or a DIY solution. If you truly aren’t happy with me or my work, you’ll end up doing one of these anyways.

⑦ What’s the consulting thing?

That’s basically me being on retainer as your tech guy for recommendations. e.g. if you’re a restaurant and want to look into software for reservations, I’ll speak with you to see your needs, do some research, and make suggestions.

⑧ Who is NOT a good fit for this?

Any websites that aren’t static informational sites, such as eCommerce storefronts.
