Hello, my name is Aly!
With my expertise as an award-winning journalist, English educator and creative businesswoman, I've helped clients expand their businesses, write novels, design websites and even land the job of their dreams. Some of my specialties include technical writing, content writing, proofreading, copyediting, academic research and creative mentoring.

I am a native English speaker, Virginia Tech alumna (B.S. in Psychology, B.A. in Multimedia Journalism) and CELTA-certified ESL tutor. The goal of English Etcetera is to help clients make steady functional improvements in the English language, including lexis, grammar, reading, listening and speaking skills. My biggest priority is to deliver quality lessons that are both entertaining and productive.
I want to help you reach your professional and personal goals through mastery of English (such as job interviews and resume editing, citizenship testing or simply uncovering your passion for American entertainment ... Etcetera!)
Foreword & Shea
Foreword & Shea is a mentoring program for young and advanced writers which gives students the power to direct their own curriculum. This program gives freedom to the mentee in deciding what writing styles they want to study and learning how to cultivate their growing voice, all in the comfort of their own home!
F&S works to provide a safe and professional writing experience, motivate, edit and offer feedback on personal projects, as well as teach specific subject writing with resources that will allow the student to succeed independently. This may also include seasonal camps, writer community platforms and guest speakers from time-to-time.
