I've been working at the intersection of physical and mind training for 25 years and have helped countless people. Living in Japan for the last 15 years where I was director of my own studio and led yoga instructor training programs. I recently moved back to the Bay Area and now work in Body-Mind Centering® professional training programs all over the world.
As a generalized movement specialist I can help in a broad range of practices and situations: athletics, business people, yogis, couch potatoes and dancers, gym bunnies, and gymnasts. Yoga, calisthenics, bodyweight, natural movement and Japanese somatic practices form the core of my programs. Uncompromisingly eclectic and interdisciplinary, I draw equally from modern scientific understanding and ancestral wisdom to craft programs for improving fitness, wellbeing, and self regulation. To help you achieve your goals, we work together to create customized programs and a uniquely fun and engaging movement experience.
My background in Body-Mind Centering® (BMC) gives us the tools to truly address the body holistically, touching all the body systems - bone, muscle, connective tissues, nervous, fluid, organ, sensory. We also look through the lens of developmental movement to address questions of performance enhancement, therapeutics, fitness, coordination and psychophysical integration.
I am a registered Master Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist through ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association), and a Certified Practitioner of Body-Mind Centering® (I no longer maintain my ACE and Yoga Alliance registrations; all that work is subsumed under the ISMETA organization now).
In addition to yoga my own personal movement pursuits include judo, wild water swimming, freediving, trail running, and obstacle running as well as my indepth research in Japanese somatic practice Noguchi-taiso, Katsugen-Undo, and Shintaido. A long time practitioner of Zen Buddhism.

I charge $160/session for Individual and $200/session for a pair or couple. Locations outside San Francisco, Alameda and Marin counties have an additional $30 travel fee. I offer a 10% discount when you purchase a 20 session package.
