About

I teach all levels of piano, have taken 28 years of private lessons, have

2 1/2 college degrees in music from Hope and Aquinas colleges, love children, and have been teaching since 2004. I like to make music fun for my students and like giving one-on-one instruction.

I love to play piano and sing all of the time. I like teaching beginners and intermediate students. I enjoy the idea of students learning to read notes better and better each lesson. I love to curtail my instruction to meet individual needs. For instance, I had a client who was in second grade. We worked together every week until she could understand the meanings of pitch, rhythm, and tempo. I played little games with her - memory with musical terms, etc. We would walk around the room in tempo with music playing in the background. I loved to see her so full of joy. She could hardly wait to see me each week. I also have one adult student who is advanced. We work on collegiate music theory, and she loves it! I cannot wait to find someone who could study theory with me.
