This studio was established by Dr. Kao to share the professional perspectives, skills, and knowledge with those who are interested in seeking in-depth understanding and experience on piano musical art (classical). Friday 7pm is the only available slot as for now.
At this studio, while enjoying being able to play piano, cultivating the highest quality in musical art for the individuals is essential, and is the core value. She is experienced in evaluating potential students’ playing skills and music knowledge as a paid trial lesson is mandatory.
Dr. Kao's Piano lessons focus on technical development through fostering self-discipline and growing musicianship. Her current students are from the most fundamental to the professionals. She has a busy piano studio and the only available slot is 7pm on Friday.
Dr. Kao is an active member at both Lake Washington Chapter and Eastside Music Teacher Associations. She is the current Chair for hosting student recitals at Eastside Chapter (2023-2024), and was the Vice President (2021-2022）and Secretary (2018-2021) at Lake Washington Chapter Music Teacher Association. She organized the Masterclass for fellow teachers, and was invited to serve as an adjudicator for Edmonds MTA (2018-2019). Dr. Kao also serves as a piano instructor at Bellevue College.
Dr. Kao holds the Doctorate in Musical Arts (D.M.A.) in Piano, from Peabody Conservatory at The Johns Hopkins University. In 2019, Dr. Kao was requested by a California publishing firm, Brookside Press, to write an independent piano review for its Magazine Acoustic & Digital Piano Buyer and its readers. She was authorized by the publisher to do whatever she likes, with complete freedom. This third-party review article ”Review: Ant. Petrof” was published as the first featured article in the online Fall 2019 issue, as well as the 10th Anniversary issue, for the entire piano industry.
