Hello! My name is Cicy, and I would like to introduce private piano lessons to you or your children!
I have been teaching piano privately for 7 years, and I’m able to teach bilingual (English + Mandarin).
My hourly lesson rate is $100, and you will be playing on a beautiful Schimmel grand piano at the sanctuary of United Evangelical Free Church in Ballard.
I can also travel to your house depends on your location, and you must have a piano on-site, and the hourly rate would be $130.
Here’s my bio:
Cicy Li, born in Shenzhen, China, began studying the piano at the age of three and a half. She began her study abroad journey in South Dakota at age of 14. She moved to Seattle to pursue her bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Seattle Pacific University, where she studied with Dr. Dainius Vaicekonis. She continued her studies in Seattle at the University of Washington, where she completed her Masters of Music degree under the guidance of distinguished professor Dr. Robin McCabe. She continues her studies with Dr. McCabe at the UW Doctoral program. Cicy was selected as a top-prize winner in the Chopin NW Festival and SPU’s Annual Concerto Competition. In 2018, Cicy performed Ravel’s Concerto in G major with conductor Julia Tai at First Free Methodist Church. She attended the International Keyboard Institute and Festival at Hunter College in New York City. In 2024, Cicy has been selected as one of the winners at UW’s Concerto Competition, and in April, she performed Beethoven’s Emperor Piano Concerto with the Northwest Sinfonietta at Meany Hall, conducted by Maestro David Rahbee. She has also enjoyed master classes with artists including Douglas Humphrey, Jerome Rose, Christopher Harding, Angela Cheng, Jean-Louis Haguenauer, and Garrick Ohlssohn.
Cicy enjoys collaborating with other musicians. She has performed in various venues including the Hearthstone at Green Lake, Skyline Retirement Community in Seattle, Aegis of Living in Kirkland, as well as Saint Clement’s Church. In July, she participated at the Borromeo Music Festival in Altdorf, Switzerland, where she performed both chamber and solo music. Cicy continues to perform in chamber ensembles at UW SoM with the chamber music director Christine Lee. In year 2024, she has performed Brahms's D minor violin sonata for Emmanuel Ax. She was also a participant at Las Vegas Chamber Music Institute and performed at University of Nevada School of Music.
Cicy was served as a Teaching Assistant at the UW for the past three years. She has taught at various piano studios including Seattle Piano Academy, Olympic Piano Academy, as well as at her own private studio. She is also a church pianist at United Evangelical Free Church in Ballard.
