I began teaching in 2011. My teaching style ranges from classical Hatha to Vinyasa, and even some ballet if you are craving that sort of thing. I'm pretty versatile with the style of class I can teach. It really depends on what you are looking for. There are always modifications that can be applied to any style of yoga making it safe for your body.
Vinyassa classes are comprised of sequences, flowing from slow to moderate/vigorous tempo. Pranayama (breathing techniques) designed to increase and sustain energy in the body are combined with fluid movement in order to build heat and cultivate strength.
Hatha yoga classes focus more on sustaining one pose at a time. Using the 12 poses
of yoga as a foundation, this type of class is the perfect combination of strength, flexibility, and relaxation. Pranayama is incorporated as a way to prepare the body by oxygenating the blood and raising energy. Asanas (yoga poses) are practiced in a specific sequence, which mirror the body's endocrine system in order to achieve optimal results.
I absolutely love helping others through the process of yoga. It has been rewarding to assist people in achieving and exceeding their goals. Yoga is for everyone. No prior experience is necessary. Only the desire to practice :)
